Turkey Dominant in Trip Advisor Chart of Best Beaches

TripAdvisor has just unveiled its chart of the top 25 beaches in the world, and we are very proud to see many Turkish beaches making the grade.
At number 5 we have Olu Deniz. Those who know the place will be unsurprised by everything, except maybe that it is not in the number 1 slot. Number 1 went to Ayia Napa in Cyprus.
Turkey's next representative is Icmeler in 13th. "Don't expect a booming nightclub scene in Icmeler - but for the travellers who've discovered this Turkish beach resort, that's a huge plus. Take a boat trip to a nearby island, savour fresh seafood in a beachside cafe, or just soak up the sun," says the report. |

British Tourism to Turkey Climbs 10% in 2010
|
The latest data on Turkish tourism shows a 10% year on year growth in British visitors in 2010. According to the data, Turkey received an impressive 28.6million visitors last year, 2.67 million of those were British.
"Turkey has gone from strength to strength in the UK market," said Tolga Tuyluoglu Senior Director from Turkey's Culture and Tourism Office, adding that Turkey has been one of the fastest-growing destinations for British visitors.
In the last few years there has been much data to show the growth in the Turkish property market, and almost as much to show that growth in British tourists is a large part of this growth. According to Tuyluoglu, Brits are continually being drawn by the fantastic value for money on offer in Turkey.
In early 2009 the Association of British Travel Agents talked of 20% growth in British tourists in 2008. |
